Way before in time, like in 2300 years ago times must have been pretty rough. Imagine you and your family living in those small houses in a crowded village. That's right, people before had a lot of space but they still lived all together in crowded places so that they could survive. No heating and the kitchen, living room and bed room all into the

Different areas had different types of houses. Some were build out of wood, sticks plastered with mud, skins, as well as what was shown. I have often wondered about how it would have been to live back then. I'm glad I only have to wonder. People in different places in the world still do that. A backward part of some countries and other areas where the whole country is backward.

I saw a masai hut once; it was built entirely out of cow dung. We didn't believe it would hold up, but the owner got up on the roof and jumped up and down; it didn't shake.

These were substantial stone structures, definitely not huts. Each house could have served as a fortification.

I don't know about that. People had spears and bow and arrow for a long time. When our family visited ancient ruins in Ireland and the UK what they did to protect themselves is they built "ring forts" around small groupings of homes, and then there was a moat around the ring fort and a hidden canoe for access to the island. Some of these "ring forts" also had a circle of tree trunks with pointed tops to keep people from scaling the fencing around the homes. apparently these worked quite well until the invention of the musket in the 1700's.

You left out the fact that peasants often shared their living space with domesticated animals. the result was that their own odor was indistinguishable from that of the livestock.

Having shared my living space with horses I can testify it's not that bad. Pigs can be annoying. You can get used to the smell, but the noise is awfull. Chickens are as foul as they are fowl.
